Today, there are family estates in the lowland district of Cullen on the Moray Firth and in Strathspey with its particular Highland charm and beauty. The estates have made a significant contribution in the past to rural land use and this positive management continues today. The well-managed estate is a proven structure with dynamics that project policy through more than one generation of stewardship. It is an ever-increasing challenge to balance rural business interests with the conservation of our natural heritage. We believe that the countryside can deliver multiple benefits to both business and the public. In partnership with others interested in this goal, we are confident that this can be achieved through well thought out long-term policies.
